What a great run we have had so far guys, I am really proud of what we were able to accomplish in the short amount of time that we have been together. The 10 Mans have worked out well, and to a degree, the 25 Mans have worked out as well. Though now, as we enter the realm of heroics, it is once again time to bring back our focus to raiding and seriousness. Everyone needs to take this next week off as sort of a "mental health/sanity" week. I know I need one, and I have a feeling that the majority of the ten man raiders feel the same. So, Pop and I will not be formally organizing any raids over this next week, and we will be taking the entire week off of our raiding schedule.
Don't get too excited though, we have quite a few things that need to happen before we can really take a break, we need to make another 1,000 flasks, we need to catch another 5,000 fish from pools, we need to recruit some more members, so on and so forth. So, I expect that all of you take a little bit of time over the break to go fishing, make some flasks, and recruit some more Guildies. I have been toying with the idea of temporarily allowing EVERYONE to invite people to the guild so long as they send me some in game mail about who they invited and such.
Fortunately though, It seems as if we may have another guild merging with us soon. The Red Society, is currently considering a merger with us. Seeya Sunday requested to merge with us on Wednesday, but we told them that they suck, and should go moan for more loot. Regardless though, I look forward to welcoming about 12 new members by this Sunday.
Great job guys, and have a wonderful Spring Break/WoW Break, feel free to organize your own raids, but remember to catch some fish.
I love y'all, and I'll see yah in a week.

It's high time that this rootin' tootin' flame breather be brought down. Nefarian is a jerk, and I honestly hate him. We have done great so far, and now it is time to get together and kill him. I'm really proud though... 11/12 already, we were able to beat out some of the other guilds on this server that have been together for much longer than we have. So great job on that guys. I honestly think that we would be where Seeya Sunday is right now, had we started raiding at the same time that they did. That's just my opinion though. So whatever. But really, we all need to take some time to review the fight:

OHOH! and be ready for Heroic Halfus later this week sometime.

I expect everyone to have read up on Halfus Heroic by Saturday. As do Pøp and Cørn.
So, sorry for the short and uninteresting post, this rogue found out that vanish doesn't work in RL. Damn TAKS test. I am really burnt out right now...

So, once again, you guys have suprised me. Last night was awesome. The moment that Cho'gall hit the ground, I think I cried a little. I am really proud of everyone that was there for the kill. Great job guys.
But now, it's time to prepare once again for another boss. Come Sunday, Al' Akir will hopefully be going down as well. I hope that everyone will take a little bit of time between now and Sunday to review the fight a bit.

I have posted the above links for everyone to review. Pøp, Cørn, and I expect everyone to go into Throne of the Four Winds prepared to face Al' Akir. To be honest, this boss doesn't seem too terribly hard, and really we shouldn't have trouble because now our DPS is a bit better than it was when we first tried to down it. Really, all that matters in this fight is postitioning. So, make sure to watch some videos, and be ready to progress.
So, here's to 11/12 on Sunday!

Well, let's be honest. Last night was a bit rough. I was hoping that I would be able to write about how amazing it was that we downed Cho'gall in one night, and that we were superspecialawesome pros. But, unfortunately... that was not the case. Don't get me wrong, I am still proud of the fact that we were able to get to him and have a solid night learning the mechanics on him, but I am already looking ahead to next Sunday when we can bash our heads into the brick walls once again. Yet, as we all know very well, a great man once said that "The brick walls are there for a reason, The brick walls are not there to keep us out; the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough. They are there to stop the other people!" I think that as a raid, we performed really well, and I was really happy with the way that people learned the fight rather quickly. So, in the end, when Cho'gall refused to succumb to the might of Aqueous, I was not disappointed. I was already looking forward to the next time we can take him on. Next week, if we have a bit better luck with gear drops. we will be a bit more prepared for him. Though, in the mean time, I would like you guys to read up a bit on him. I was reading some literature from tank spot this morning and I saw some tips that may help us.
So, here is the takeaway: Cho'gall was a bit hard, we weren't 100% prepared for his abilities. I am confident that come next Sunday, his body will be hitting the floor. Between now and then, I would like everyone to comment about a few things:
1. What do you think we can do better during that fight?
2. How do you think we can best handle the Blood of the Old God adds?
3. How do you think that we can best handle the tentacles that spawn in the last phase?
4. For the people on the Blood of the Old God adds, did the frost grenade help? Should I make more?

Well, another week of raiding has gone by, and we are another boss closer to being the oh so coveted 12/12. Great job this week guys, I'm really proud of the Chimareon kill. But now we are nearing the point of awesomeness. As soon as the council goes down this week... we have it all down. Except for the Big Three, Neferian, Cho'gall, and Al'Akir.
Now, this begs the question... At what point does the desire for progression exceed the desire for gear? This is the question that we may have to face within the coming weeks, because I can foresee us clearing all of the bosses in each instance up to the big three on Tuesday/Wednesday, and then us spending a Sunday wiping on it. Cørn and I have been deep in discussion about the Gear vs Progression question, and we can't really come to a conclusion. What do you guys think? Personally, I'd like to keep raiding as normal through this week, and then start raid lockout extensions in the next few weeks.
Then, another question comes to light... when we get to 12/12, do we immediately start to grind through the Heroic Modes, or do we continue to farm the normal modes for gear that may not drop? Quite a conundrum. After looking at Wow-Heroes, and comparing us to other guilds that are on heroics/end-tier raiding, we are roughly the same as far as gear goes.
So, I'd like it if everyone would leave a comment answering the following questions:
- How do you feel about raid lockout extensions?
- How do you feel about Heroics?
- Why?

This Sunday, we need to down some bosses. I have faith in our abilities to do so as a guild. In order to do this, we all need to be prepared and ready. Everyone needs to be on their A game. I'd like to see Chimaeron and the Ascendant Council down by the end of the night. Please take some time out of your day to review the fights and fight mechanics as best and efficiently as possible, so that when we begin to raid on Sunday, we are ready to progress. I cannot stress to you how much I'd like to see us at #7 on the realm rankings. If we can pull together and down the bosses on Sunday, we may just have a chance.
Please take some time to review the fights:

Also, THIS VIDEO exemplifies what life would be like if we lived in Azeroth. Cørn and I were talking about this a few months ago...

So, after two weeks of raiding and 7/12 bosses down... I think that its safe to say that Aqueous is here to stay.
Now, its time to start getting a wee bit organized. I'm going to be honest, I have never run a guild before, so this is a new thing for me. Thankfully though, I have Pøp and Cørn to help me. You guys may have seen us playing with the ranks and such this week, and it was mainly because we were trying to figure out how all of this was going to work. Nothing was nor is currently set in stone, though we have a tentative plan as to how our ranking system is going to work out in the future as well as how that will affect loot distribution. (note: loot rules have been left out pending further notice from Pøp, and Cørn)
To start out, here are the ranks that we have planned:
- GM
- Officer
- Veteran
- Raider
- Member
- Alt
- Trial
- MIA
- Probation
Fairly simple... did I miss anything?
Now, here descriptions of how to get the the rank as well as how the rank will effect your status in guild. (note: loot rules have been left out pending further notice from Pøp, and Cørn)
- GM - To get to this rank, you have to be either Gød, or something... maybe you found Pøp, Cørn, and I, then murdered us and took our accounts.
- Officer - To get to this rank, you have to be a good person all around, great DPS/Heals/Tanking, you have to be basically a good role model... as well as willing to step up and lead when the time comes. This rank will be awarded based primarily on merit.
- Veteran - To get to this rank, you have to have been raiding with us for a few months, or perhaps been with us at the very start. This rank is more of a status symbol than anything, and really says "Hey nub! Raid MOAR."
- Raider - You are a raider, you raid with us. You show up, you contribute, and you win with us. This rank will be awarded after you show a bit of consistent raid attendance
- Member - You are a member of Aqueous, you raid every once in a while, and you are in the guild to have fun/ whatever.
- Alt- You are a dirty good for nothing scumbag that wastes the 10g worth of guild repair allocated to you. But really, you are an alt of another toon. And no, rank from your main does NOT carry over to your alt, unless you specifically request a main change.
- Trial - You are currently in your trial period in the guild, this period lasts until you either become a member/raider or decide that we are not a good fit for you. Typically, we will update your rank every few days so this period doesn't last too long.
- MIA - You're gone! You haven't been online in more than 3 weeks, we will set an officer note corresponding to the rank that you were before you decided to take a wow break, and then restore it when you return.
- Probation - I don't really know how you would get to this rank, more on this one later.
So, overall it seems pretty simple to me, clear cut ranks for the most part eh?
What do you guys think?

Also, GREAT JOB ON THE ATRAMEDES KILL! WOO!

What a great week it was for us. We grew again, in many ways. Here is a big shout out to those people who came to us from Blackbeards Delight, you guys made that second ten man possible. Here is another big shout out to those people who got their Bane of The Fallen King this week, t'was much fun. In other (and possibly more exciting news) news, kudos to our Core 10M #1, on the Maloriak, and Valiona and Theralion, kills. Progression is most definitely a step in the right direction. I am really happy to see the guild growing... now we have 43 awesome members, and our outlook for the future is looking better than ever. Core 10M #2, completed its first raid on Sunday, and from what I heard everything went very well. They downed Magmaw, Omnotron Defense System, and got Maloriak pretty close. Hopefully the bosses that we have down already are going to go to farm status, as we continue to get people geared up.This coming Tuesday, depending on whether 4.0.6 drops or not, I would personally like to see 5/12 bosses down that night (Excluding Conclave of Wind, we can do that on Wednesday) so that we have the rest of the week to work on that damn Elevator Boss in BWD, I hear that we have been able to get it down to 30% without falling off
. Really though, this week we should be able to down Atramedes, as well as Chimaeron, and hopefully The Twilight Ascendant Council, downing 2-3 more bosses would put us in the Top 10 on our server. Although, I'm really happy with how far we have progressed already. On the other hand, I had a ton of fun in Naxx, ToGC, EoE, and ICC with everyone last Saturday, it was great to take a little bit of time away from the nerve wracking raids for a day. In case no one noticed, I put a sign up sheet in the guild calendar both in game and on this website for an Ulduar run next Saturday just for the hell of it. Steamrolling bosses brings joy to my soul. Also, Pøp wants to talk a bit about guild achievements in general, I think that he wanted a full guild vent meeting sometime this week. More on that later though.
But for now, great job this week.

PS: Gratz to Liono@Haomarush, and Starlito@Haomarush on their Glory of The Cataclysm Hero achievements, way to stay on top of things guys!

In other news, today is a landmark day for Aqueous, can you say 21 members? We have filled out most of our raid spots for a 10 man raid; We have also killed 27k critters for our Critter Kill Squad Achievement. Good job this week guys... Also, as the next few weeks progress, I'd like to see you guys active in the forums. While I realize that It will be rather tough to talk to yourself, judging by the fact that we don't have many people, I'd like to see everyone responding to and commenting on forum posts to encourage the newbies as they trickle in bit by bit.
Good job this week guys, Heigh-Ho Aqueous!
**THIS JUST IN*** --We downed the Conclave of Wind last night on 1/23/2011! Great job guys!
***EVEN BETTER!*** --We downed Omnotron Defense System last night on 1/24/2011! Wooooot!
